Truck fleets operate on schedules and don’t want to spend a lot of time on clean-up for any size spill. Having absorbent product that is compact and in a contained space is ideal.
SaveSorb recommends a spill kit for every vehicle. Hard or soft case, there is a kit for all type of fleet vehicles. For orders of 20 kits or more, SaveSorb will customize to meet the needs of each client.
Why have a spill kit on every truck? Highway departments in most states have a strict policy when it comes to spilled oil, fuel and fluids. They are not going to be responsible for cleaning it up unless there is no other option. If drivers don’t have the ability to at least contain a spill, officers and tow truck drivers will be billing the company for their time and materials.
More importantly, if a spill is large enough or threatens a waterway or storm water drain, a third party spill response company may be called. These bills can be outrageous ($5,000 to $25,000 depending on the severity and threat to water). Just having an effective spill kit on board will greatly reduce this risk. Prevention of just one of these spills will more than offset the spill kit cost.
